Do not permit any external electrical appliances, such as a lights, telephone, radio, television
and etc., within 5 feet (1.5m) of the hot tub. Never attempt to operate any electrical device from
inside the hot tub.
WARNING -- TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY
The hot tub water should never exceed 40˚C (104˚F). Water temperatures between 38˚C
(100˚F) and 40˚C are considered safe for a healthy adult. Lower water temperatures are
recommended for young children and when hot tub use exceeds 10 minutes.
High water temperatures have a high potential for causing foetal damage during pregnancy.
Women who are pregnant, or who think they are pregnant, should always check with their
physician prior to hot tub usage.
The use of alcohol, drugs or medication before or during hot tub use may lead to
unconsciousness with the possibility of drowning.
Persons suffering from obesity, a medical history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure,
circulatory system problems or diabetes should consult a physician before using the hot tub.
Persons using medications should consult a physician before using the hot tub since some
medication may induce drowsiness while others may affect heart rate, blood pressure and
circulation.
AVOID RISKS OF HYPERTHERMIA
Prolonged exposure to hot air or water can induce hyperthermia. Hyperthermia occurs when
the internal temperature of the body reaches a level above 2˚C to 4˚C the normal body
temperature of 37˚C. While hyperthermia has many health benefits, it is important not to allow
your body's core temperature to rise above 39.5˚C. Symptoms of excessive hyperthermia
include dizziness, lethargy, drowsiness and fainting. The effects of excessive hyperthermia
may include:
